Rocketing on the Parkway

As many who read this know, Erin and I met just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in the little town of Arden, NC at Camp Lutheridge. Well, as luck would have it (and by the humoring of God no doubt) we get to travel another parkway. Memorial Parkway in Huntsville, AL. Or, as the locals call it 'THE' Parkway. The two parkways are quite different. For example, the Blue Ridge Parkway (if you've never been lucky enough to travel it) cuts a scenic route through the creation of God in the Appalachian Mountains. It might take you a lot longer to get to where you're going, but it sure will look a lot better! Memorial Parkway, on the other hand, cuts a wide path, from the northern point of the city to the southern point between loads of commercial buildings, restaurants, stores, and all sorts of human 'creation.'

However, despite these two Parkways vast differences; for Erin and I, they hold a very special similarity. On each Parkway, we have found the work of God. At Lutheridge, we helped mentor and mold young minds. Showing each and every camper the love, grace, and mercy of God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Here in Huntsville on the Memorial Parkway, Erin and I will be mentored and molded as God's instruments as we embark on this yearlong internship at All Saints Lutheran Church.

We have decided to start a blog for our friends and family so that all may be able to keep up with what is going on in our lives here in "Sweet Home Alabama." We hope to update this blog as much as we can, reflecting on whatever God sends us down in the Tennessee Valley.

But, until next time, know that we are here, we are moved in, and we are excited for all that God will use us for! Peace out!
