Ashleigh is doing an amazing job in her new role as big sister! She really does seem to adore Miriam. She lovingly strokes her hair and says, “She’s so adorable!” and hands us wipes when we are changing Miriam’s diaper. She is very gentle with her. Her favorite thing to do is to push the buttons on Miriam’s bouncy seat to make it vibrate and play music.
When we brought Miriam home from the hospital, we gave Ashleigh her very own baby doll so that she could take care of a baby just like mommy!
Besides loving on her sister, what has Ashleigh been up to these days?
Well, she loves playing with her My Little Ponies! Her favorite is still Rainbow Dash. She has quite a collection of ponies now, and she knows all their names. She can come up with story lines when she’s playing with them. It’s so cute to hear the conversations she has (to herself) when playing with the ponies!
She also likes “riding” her new trike. She’s getting the hang of it!
(And yes, these pictures were taken in late May… and she’s wearing long sleeves. Crazy Michigan weather!)
She has also enjoyed swimming in her new pool!
This child just loves to be outside!! Thank goodness the weather is finally cooperating!
Some of her favorite sayings right now are:
“That was totally awesome!”
“This is the best night ever!!”
“I’m moving sidewards!”
“She is so adorable!”
“Let me I do it.” (if she wants to do something herself)
She likes to point out places while we are driving like “the Meijer store”, “that’s where we got Daddy’s glasses”, etc.
Her two favorite stores are the “Toy Story 3 store” (Toys R Us) and “the Twenty Dollar Store” (Best Buy). Yes, she came up with those names herself!
This girl remembers everything!
