Ruckers Visit!

We were so glad that Grandma Sue and Grandpa Bill came up to Michigan to help us celebrate Ashleigh's 4th birthday! Even though the weather was a tad cooler for their tastes, we all had a lovely time! One of the first stops was to Horrocks where we stocked up on gourmet cheeses, fresh produce, and lots of Michigan craft beer, of course! They arrived on Ashleigh's birthday, so they took us all out to dinner that night at our favorite local place, City Limits!

We must have all been hungry because this is the only picture we took that night! But trust us, the food was great, the company was even better, and Ashleigh's (free) ice cream and brownie hit the spot! She shared a bite or two... :)

We blew some bubbles outside when we got back home. As you can see, Miriam needs a little bit of work on her technique...

Grandma and Grandpa gave Ashleigh this gorgeous Frozen quilt!!
I think they both like it!

We went to the park the next day to let the girls play.

The next day was Downtown Mason's Down Home Days festival. Our church had a booth so we hung out there for a while watching the youth group members paint faces. We also enjoyed walking around the square and looking at all the crafts and foods for sale. We visited our favorite booth- an Amish bakery! We bought a delicious strawberry rhubarb pie and melt-in-you-mouth cinnamon rolls. YUM!

Matt is such a good sport!

The next day was church and Ashleigh's birthday party!!

On Monday, Grandma got to watch Ashleigh at gymnastics class.

We met Grandpa and Matt and Miriam at the Daily Scoop for some ice cream after gymnastics class.

We love you!! Thanks so much for coming up to "cold" Michigan to visit us!

  1. Aww It was not cold...the trip was way too short but they always are....I check your blog just about every day, I do not know how you find the time with your busy home. Thank you for being such a wonderful daughter, mother to the two most adorable Grands around and of course a super wife for my son. Love you All!
