We took Ashleigh to Mason’s Electric Lights Parade at the beginning of December. It was even lightly snowing! What a perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit!
(Matt also had fun testing out the phone on his new camera… all these pics were taken with his phone and without a flash. Pretty impressive!)
One of the first trucks to drive through was a firetruck, and the firemen had huge bags of stuffed animals that they were passing out to children. Since we weren’t right up front, Ashleigh didn’t get a toy (no big deal), but one older girl in front of us noticed that Ashleigh didn’t get one, so she gave Ashleigh the toy she had received. My heart about melted!! A high schooler near us had also noticed that Ashleigh hadn’t gotten a toy, so she ran after a fireman to get one for her. After thanking her, we gave the second toy to the first child who had given away her toy. What sweet people!!
Our favorite floats were the two that had the hot-air balloon baskets on them because they would shoot the flames into the air and the heat from the flame felt SO GOOD!!
We were also able to meet Santa Claus afterwards. Ashleigh refused to sit on his lap, but she didn’t mind sitting with me. It was a very quick visit!
What a fun start to the Christmas season!
