Since we were planning to start driving on Christmas day, our “Christmas Eve” was on Dec. 23 and our “Christmas Day” was on Dec. 24.
On Dec. 23, we let Ashleigh open one gift (her new pajamas).
(Here is Baby Titus on Christmas Eve eve- approx. 18 weeks)
Then, on Christmas eve morning, we opened presents!
Ashleigh was so excited about everything, especially her kitchen! We had so much fun watching her tear into the wrapping paper and seeing her face light up when she saw her presents! So much fun!
(Why is the phone always the biggest attraction of a kitchen playset??)
We let her play with her kitchen for quite a while before we started opening the presents under the tree. We also had some breakfast (yummy cinnamon rolls!).
Since we were leaving the next morning to drive to SC, we took Arden over to the Mitchells’ house so they could keep her for us while we were gone. It had just started snowing when we left to go to their house. It started coming down pretty hard and the roads got bad very quickly. It took us quite a bit of time just to go 5 miles. When we got home, we had to rush to get ready for the 5pm Christmas Eve service!
Ashleigh and I went to the 5pm service, which was a great service, and it was nice to see the church packed! Unfortunately, no one had signed up to watch the nursery, and I had just kept nursery the day before during church, so I was determined to keep Ashleigh in the sanctuary during the Christmas Eve service since it’s one of my favorite services. She did fairly well, and I only had to take her out a couple of times. My favorite part of the service is the end where we all gather in a circle around the sanctuary, light our candles, and sing Silent Night. It has made me cry the past two years. It is just an emotional moment.
At home, we posed for pictures before eating our yummy dinner of Shrimp and Grits!
Someone still likes her kitchen, I think!
Merry Christmas, everyone!
