Be a Tourist in your own Town

On May 31, Lansing hosted a “Be a Tourist in your own Town” day. For $1, you could buy a passport, which you could then use to participate in various activities around town or visit tourist attractions for free!

There were many locations we wanted to visit but we knew they would be packed (Impression 5 children’s museum, the zoo, etc) so we opted for some fun activities that we hadn’t done in a while.

We started off by going to Burchfield Park. This is one of our favorite parks to go to because they have great playgrounds and two awesome disc golf courses. Our park system up here is incredible! Using our passport, we got into the park for free (normally $3) and rented a paddleboat for 1/2 an hour (normally $5). Ashleigh loved the boat!

Then we went home for a quick lunch and headed to City Limits, our local sports bar and bowling center for a free game of bowling for all of us!

Then we drove up to a local brewery called Eaglemonk for a quick brewery tour and taste testing!

There were so many other things we would have loved to do, but we knew we only be able to do a few things with 2 small kiddos. It was a great (and cheap!) way for us to participate in some fun things around Lansing.
