19 months old

Ah. Row. TIE-TIE!

(That’s how Ashleigh pronounces her full name. Boy does she love her last name. She always points to herself when she yells TIE-TIE, too!)

This little 19 month old can be conniving… just LOOK at that face before she drinks from the cup… she knows exactly what she’s going to do! What a trickster!

There are so many things that she does now, that it’s becoming hard to make lists! But I will give it a try!

At 19 months, Ashleigh…

-is wearing size 4 diapers.

-is wearing size 12/18 month clothing.

-is drinking out of “normal” cups instead of sippy cups (we don’t put ice in her cups, for obvious reasons!)

-is gettting pretty picky about what she eats, and she thinks it’s hilarious to throw all her food on the ground. Momma and Daddy don’t think it’s so funny.

-says “no” when she knows she isn’t supposed to be doing something.

-tiptoes up to things that she shouldn’t have (i.e. She knows she’s not supposed to walk around with crayons. So when she tries to walk around with a crayon in her hand, she takes itty bitty little steps and looks at us the whole time. Nutty girl!)

- has really become attached to blankets. It doesn’t really match which blanket she finds, but she just loves to have a blanket wrapped around herself.

- has just started carrying around a baby doll. She likes to kiss her and rock her. So.ridiculously.cute.

-is talking quite a lot and mimicking what we say.

-loves to walk around the farm and look at all the tractors (tack-ta)

- is repeating so much of what we say. It’s hilarious to say big words and listen to her pronunciation. She usually just gets the first or last sounds. So cute to hear!

- loves to hear cars and trucks and airplanes around our house. She will point out every.single.vehicle that passes our house (before we even hear it!)

- is in love with animals. Her new obsession is looking out the window to spot buhs (birds). She loves the kitty cat more than she loves us (if you can measure love by the amount of kisses she gives). That cat gets more kisses from Ashleigh than Matt or I do! She calls him “cah” (cat) or Hah (Hobbes) now. Did I mention she LOVES this cat? She calls Arden a “woof”.

- can say “I love you” (with prompting), and she even points at you when she says it. Can I just say we cry every time she does it?!

-loves to go to the playground and go down the slides and swing. She can go down the slide by herself! Whenever we pass a playground, she yells, “SLIDE!!”

-is going through separation anxiety…ugh… She refuses to stay in the nursery at church. She just screams and cries until they come get me. Oh geez. Let’s hope this phase passes quickly!

-loves to play with other kids, especially one on on. She is so fun to watch with her friends! She loves to give them hugs and kisses, too.

She is one precious girl! We love her so!
