Marvelous Miriam (16 months)

In September, Miriam turned 16 months old. She is becoming fiercely independent and showing development growth each and every day! She seems to learn at least one new skill every day!

Her new favorite sign is "more." She uses this sign a lot at the dinner table. This girl likes to eat!

Her last 2 molars finally came in. Good grief, that was NOT fun (for her, or for anyone else in this house!)

She has gotten better at going up stairs on her hands and knees.

She likes to sit and "hide" in random places and wait for us to find her. Such a goof!

She ate her first apple, and she loved it!

If she falls asleep in the car, you can usually pick her up and take her anywhere and she'll stay asleep.(This is something Ashleigh never did!)

She has no problem sleeping in the car, but when it comes to sleeping through the night...well..that's a whole different story. She's still getting up at least once, but usually twice, each night.

She says "cheese!" whenever she seems a camera pointed at her! What a little ham!

She loves her cat "Hob" (as she calls him.) He is quite tolerant of her.

She doesn't like to sit still much any more. (This is an example of a rare time where she was sitting down!)

She is just a funny girl.

September Entertainment

Who needs a tv when we have these two to keep us entertained??

In other news, Ashleigh finally learned how to ride her tricycle!! (Of course right before it gets cold outside!!)

Ice Cream and Rain

Gotta love eating ice cream downtown when a big rainstorm hits. Ashleigh loved dancing in the puddles and Miriam loved saying "cheese" to the camera (and eating ice cream!).

First Day of Preschool

Ashleigh started preschool! She has been so excited about going to school, and I had a feeling that she would love it. We were right! She walked right into that classroom and didn't even look back. She is having a blast!

(Hobbes may be relieved that Ashleigh has started school! Poor guy! He is so tolerant!)

So glad she loves school! Let's hope it stays that way!

Matt, Miriam, and I all went with her to school on her first day. She was a little nervous but was very excited. She couldn't wait to get inside the classroom and play with the dollhouse.

It was difficult to get pictures of her because she was so excited that she couldn't even stand still!

When Matt went to pick her up on the first day, she said she had a great day, but then lowered her voice and said, "I didn't listen to my teachers very well. I went to the big playground and I was only supposed to go to the little playground." What a sweet and honest girl! We'll take it while we can get it because I'm sure those days are fleeting! We are so proud of our school girl! :)

Gymnastics Time!

I have wanted to put Ashleigh in gymnastics for quite some time, so I finally signed her up for gymnastics classes at the local high school. We bought her a leotard has an early birthday present, and she wore it all day!

She loved doing forward rolls across the blue carpet. She LOVED jumping on the trampoline! One of her friends, Natalie, is in the class with her, so I know they will have fun together!

And when she got home, she got to tell Aunt Ginger and Uncle Kris all about the fun she had in gymnastics!

Ashleigh update

Ashleigh watched Mary Poppins for the first time. (She complained for the first 10 minutes that she didn't like it, but then she was hooked!)

She had so much fun watching Daddy do the ALS ice bucket challenge that she wanted to do it, too.

She is obsessed with playing in the dirt and mud.

Girl has loved eating some popsicles. She always calls them lollipops!

She just loves to be outside in general. Even in her Sunday finest!

AUGH! Who is this grown-up girl, and what has she done with my little baby?!

She is in love with Anna and Elsa.

Loves her sister. (Well, she does tell us to take Miriam back to the baby store and leave her there, but that's only when Miriam is bothering her!)

I can't believe our first-born will be 4 years old in just a couple of weeks! Wow!
