It's Fun to Swim at the YMCA...

Ashleigh had her first ever swim lessons last week. She has always loved "swimming" in the water, and by that I mean she enjoys getting in the pool or ocean, but she doesn't know how to swim and she will only jump in if she is holding onto your hands.

This was how she jumped into the water on the first day of lessons...

And this is how she jumped into the water on the third day of lessons! What a difference!

This week, she learned so much! She learned how to jump into the water by herself, how to blow bubbles out of her nose so she doesn't have to hold her nose, and she can go under water all by herself! I'm so proud! She didn't master swimming at her lessons, but we have been back to the pool twice now, and she is really starting to get the hang of it!

Miriam wasn't too happy when she discovered that she didn't get to be in the water, but she figured out a way to stay occupied!
