This year, my mom flew up to MI for my birthday! Yay! We had a wonderful visit. My actual birthday was on a Saturday this year. We happened to see a sign about Disney on Ice coming to the area, and when I checked into it, I found out that it was on my birthday! We scored some awesome seats (6th row!!). We left early that morning to drive the 1.5 hours to get to the Palace at Auburn Hills (where the Pistons play). We had no problems parking and finding our seats. When the skaters and characters started coming out onto the ice, Ashleigh wasn’t quite sure what to think. You could tell she was excited, in a nervous sort of way. Then once she got used to it, she LOVED it! She kept pointing and shouting out which characters she saw. However, I’m not sure any one loved the show more than Miriam! That girl bounced and clapped and danced throughout the entire show. That was totally unexpected! The show was amazing. :)
After the show, we went to the Great Lakes Crossing Mall (huge mall, like Concord Mills in Charlotte), and we did lots of shopping. Instead of dragging Ashleigh around the mall, Matt took her to a place in the mall called Jeepers which is a game/amusement park/fun place for kids! Ashleigh played hard in there for about 4 hours!
We headed back home and happened to pass a Sonic, so we HAD to stop for Strawberry Limeades!
What a fun birthday, and I am looking forward to seeing what happens this year! :)
