Marvelous Miriam: 9 months old

And just like that…it’s another month, and our precious girl is another month older!

At her 9 month appointment, she was 27 inches long and 16 lbs 9 oz. She hasn’t gained too much weight since her 6 month appointment, but that’s because she spends all the live-long day doing this…

She is one busy little girl!

At 9 months, Miriam…

-says “mamamama!”

-says a few other sounds, like ba-ba, da-da

-is obsessed with her sister. If Ashleigh is in the room, Miriam is craning her neck to see what she is doing.

-waves to us

-claps her hands when she is happy

-has started scooting and crawling everywhere

-can pull up on the furniture and her toy baskets (her favorite thing to pull up onto is A’s dollhouse!)

-got her second tooth!

-is a terrible sleeper (15 minute nap during the day, wakes up at least 3 times during the night). She has gotten better, but boy am I ready for this child to sleep through the night!

-is finally rolling over more often

-stays flat on her back when she sleeps. She is always lying in the same position when she wakes up…exactly the same place where I put her down.

-loves looking for the cat and gets very excited when she spots him

-likes to bounce up and down while she is standing up (we call this “dancing”)

-had her first ear infection at her 9 month appointment (we didn’t even know she was sick- she never pulled at her ear, acted sick, or ran a fever!)

-wears 6-9 month clothing.

-wears size 3 diapers

-likes to chew (and make bitemarks!) on the wood furniture

-LOVES to eat… she hasn’t met a food she didn’t like. She loves to feed herself, which makes meal times very messy and last forever!

-loves to crawl through the end table (over and over and over again!)
