My parents came to visit for a few days, and we were able to have some fun times together. After almost missing their flight to HSV, they made it here safely on Thursday. On Friday, we drove up to Lynchburg, TN (about 45 minutes away) to tour the Jack Daniels whiskey distillery. Funny thing- the distillery is located in a dry county, so you can’t drink or taste any alcohol there! So, instead of getting to sample whiskey (which I wouldn’t have been able to try anyway), they served us lemonade. Worked for me! :)

It was very interesting to see how long and involved the process is to make whiskey. They also never reuse barrels- they make a new barrel for each new batch of whiskey they produce. But don’t worry- they find unique ways to reuse the barrels. They sell them to other companies to use or grind them up to make wood chips. Or, use them to make chairs!
P.S. These chairs smelled great!!
We weren’t allowed to take pictures inside any of the buildings (except the visitor’s center), but it was a neat experience nonetheless.
Even Baby Titus enjoyed her visit to the distillery! :)

Does JD ever use the old barrels to make cribs?
