Princess Party

Keans, our local dime store and Hallmark store hosted a Princess Party last Saturday. This is the second one that Ashleigh has attended. She had a ball!

She chose to have her face painted first.

Then she had her nails painted (purple, of course!)

Then she got to walk on the red carpet on her way to meet the princesses!

She received a special gift, a Cinderella doll, just for coming.

Then, we met the princesses! She was a little nervous when she saw Cinderella and Jasmine from afar, but after a minute she walked up to them to show them her dress.

Then, we walked around the corner and saw (gasp) THE Anna and Elsa! Ashleigh didn’t move. She wouldn’t say a word and she just stared at them. She wouldn’t even get close to them. We decided to walk around the store for a few minutes and try again. We were successful the second time around, but Ashleigh was definitely in shock that they were there!

On our way out of the store, we stopped to play checkers.

Two look-alike girls

I still can't get over how similar our two girls look!

13 and 14 months

I have been focusing so hard on updating the blog with all the events that we had done this summer that I have slacked on the monthly posts. So this will be a combined 13/14 month post!
At 14 months, Miriam…
-loves to wave hi and bye.
-has started to say “pease” when she wants something.
-is signing “eat” because, you know, it’s her favorite thing to do!
-makes a “huh?” sound when she agrees with something you said.
(example: Me: Miriam, do you want something to eat?  Miriam: Huh?”)
-shakes her head no if she doesn’t want something.
-is really amazing us with how much she understands already!!
-is walking all over the place and is very steady on her feet.

-loves to play with the big balls outside
-loves to climb stairs
-has  had a few good nights of sleep lately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-is going down for naps quite easily. You read her a book, put her in her crib, hand her a few books, and she falls asleep “reading”
-has the most wonderful personality! She is just a happy girl!

-is imitating her sister in so many ways

  
-loves to play with the big kids
 
- has mastered falling asleep at the table

-has also mastered how to make a huge mess at the dinner table!
 
-loves playing with her sister’s toys

-simply adores her big sis

-loves to be outside
 
(don’t worry, she didn’t fall. She just laid down on the ground!)


 
-is still my cuddle bug (thank goodness!!)
